NAMASTE
is the common form of greeting in India. It is an ancient
Sanskrit term with a deep spiritual meaning recognising the
belief that the God in me is the same as the God in you.
It is accompanied by a small bow with the hands pressed
together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards. Thus it
is a non-contact form of greeting which is generally preferred in
India to shaking hands.
namaste
My soul honours your soul.
I honour the place in you where
the entire universe resides.
I honour the light, love, truth,
beauty and peace within you,
because it is also within me.
In sharing these things
we are united, we are the same.
We are one.
